Total Battle Arachne's Swarm
Arachne’s Swarm is a recurring epic-monster event window in Total Battle. The boss starts at 300M HP and drops 35 clan chests evenly across the kill. Standard EMB stacking bonuses apply; see Epic Monster Battles for the full bonus recipe.
Captains
Section titled “Captains”A solo Arachne’s Swarm march has three captain slots. Fill two with combat captains for damage, and use the third to grind XP on a non-combat captain you want to level.
- Combat slots (×2): Hercules > Cleopatra > Aydae.
- XP slot (×1): Carter > Helen > Farhad > Aurora > Stror.
Captain XP accrues to every captain riding along, regardless of whether their bonus applies to the fight. Picking a non-combat captain you actually want to level (Carter for crypts, Helen for training, Farhad for research, Aurora for construction) means every Arachne hit doubles as XP grind for the rest of your daily routine.
March composition
Section titled “March composition”Bring Archers, or Archers + Riders. Do not bring Spearmen: they underperform here.
Every monster in an Arachne’s Swarm squad except the main unit has 33,000 HP. At Guardsman I baseline, Spearmen deal ~39% vs. mounted, Archers ~67% vs. flying, Riders ~65% vs. ranged. Arachne’s Swarm monsters skew flying/ranged, so Archers deal the most efficient damage; mixing in Riders is fine. Spearmen are the worst option and should be left out of the march.
Use the Troop Stack Calculator to size each march across your Leadership, Authority, and Dominance caps. Enable Elite Preservation so the higher-tier stacks survive the round and keep contributing kills. Before sending, confirm you can actually kill at least one monster in the squad: zero kills means zero VP. See Combat Mechanics for the HP-package math.
Clan chest thresholds
Section titled “Clan chest thresholds”Arachne’s Swarm starts the encounter at 300M HP and drops 35 clan chests evenly across the kill, one roughly every 8.57M HP (300M ÷ 35). The 35th chest drops on kill itself.
