Unlocking Captains
Section titled “Unlocking Captains”Collect fragments from Summoning Scroll events. Collect free scrolls daily. Batch Elite Scrolls to 10 before summoning. Save scrolls for Summon Mastery Events, which give bonus fragments for key captains. At Hero ~12, focus fragments on the 3–4 captains you actually use.
Priority and Usage
Section titled “Priority and Usage”New players: Carter → Farhad → Aurora → Stror. Add Hercules and Doria for VP events.
Level 45 is the first meaningful threshold. It unlocks the captain’s faction buff, which is the point at which a captain starts paying for itself across your whole account. Push every captain you actually use past 45 before chasing higher levels on any single one.
Carter, the most important captain
Section titled “Carter, the most important captain”Only use for crypts. Equip Tomb Raider gear (start blue/purple, aim red/gold), or Omniscience for Epic Crypts, and socket Crypt Exploration Efficiency gems on every slot. Push to Star 7 and enough XP to clear Lv20+ crypts in one march. Slot the Torch of Olympus artefact once available (best-in-slot for crypts; manage artefacts from the slot in the upper-left of the captain screen).

Support
Section titled “Support”Stror (gathering), Aurora (construction), Farhad (research), Helen (paid; food/training speed, very valuable long-term).
Combat
Section titled “Combat”Amanitore is the top priority combat captain for any group-march activity: clan raids, CoT, Ragnarök Day 1, kingdom wars. Unlockable via TinMan personal rewards, so grind her fragments there early. After Amanitore: Cleopatra (army strength, best for solo vs. epics), Aydae (strong vs. players, can outperform Cleo in PvP), Leonidas (PvP swordsman buffs). Type specialists: Alexander (mounted), Minamoto (ranged), Wu Zetian (flying), Ingrid (monsters), Brann (engineers, less needed once you have flying units).
